Bergdorf Goodman Restaurant Review
The Bergdorf Goodman restaurant is located on the trendy 5th avenue shopping strip in New York City in between 57th and 58th street.
As soon as you walk into the department store the opulence hits you as each floor is filled with designers, antiques and expensive relics for the home.
The restaurant is no different, offering a cosy yet glamorous feel. The restaurant is busy so it is recommended to make a reservation, but you will be glad that you did as this department store eatery is fabulous.
Perfect for a tea party, or lunch with the girls, the restaurant also offers a tea menu form 3-5pm where you can order a tray of petite sandwiches and desserts to share.
But if you can’t stay for tea, the regular menu is also divine. Here is what we ordered:
For the appetizer we tried the Winter Squash Soup with caramelized apple. The apple was definitely a nice touch but the soup was on the bland side.
A hands down winner was the Lobster Mac and Cheese which is one of the restaurants’ most popular items. It was very decadent and the lobster meat was cooked perfectly.
For the mains we had the shrimp salad which was delicious and the filet mignon which came with a side of truffle mashed potatoes.
For dessert we tried the BG special which was a flourless hazelnut cake with a chocolate mousse. It was delicious and definitely worth every bite. I am not even a huge fan of chocolate or mousse but this was a real stand out.
We finished off our meal with some tea and coffee – the perfect lunch for a rainy afternoon in New York.
