Chilled Oranges with Hibiscus Tea Syrup
Nothing could be more refreshing on a hot Summers day than chilled oranges slices drizzled with a hibiscus flower tea syrup, sweetened just with honey- yum!
This dessert is not only delicious but it is also healthy and super easy to make.
2 large organic oranges, peeled and sliced
2 tbs hibiscus tea (the tea I used also had licorice and peppermint leaves added)
1 tbsp honey
1 cup of water
zest of 1 orange
1.) Peel and slice your oranges into rounds. If you want to get really fancy, remove the white orange pith from the outside too.
2.) In saucepan, combine the zest, water, honey and tea leaves. Place on medium heat with the lid off and allow to simmer for at least 10 minutes.
3.) Arrange your orange slices on a plate and then drizzle the tea over the slices. Use a strainer to avoid getting too many tea leaves on the plate. As a garnish, sprinkle some of the hibiscus flowers over the top.
4.) Chill in the fridge for about 2 hours. Serve.
