Turmeric Baked Fish
Turmeric has commonly been used in South East Asian cooking for centuries and it is only now being realized for its amazing health benefits.
This amazing yellow spice is not only anti-inflammatory, anti-viral and anti-fungal but it has also been shown to help reduce depression and fight cancer causing free radicals.
Because of it’s mild taste, turmeric is easy to incorporate into your diet. Just like this baked turmeric fish recipe!
1 Bronzoni or your favorite white fish
1 clove of garlic
1/2 brown onion, sliced
3 stalks of celery, chopped into chunks
1 tsp ground turmeric powder
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
sea salt and pepper
1/2 tbs coconut oil
1.) Set the oven to 400 F.
2.) Add the celery and onion to a baking dish along with the coconut oil, stick the veggies in the oven just long enough for the coconut oil can melt (1-2 min). Then mix the veggies to make sure they are coated.
3.) To prepare the fish, wash it and gently pat it dry.
4.) Make the spice rub by combining the turmeric, cumin, salt, pepper and garlic. Rub it into the flesh of the fish.
5.) Place the fish onto the vegetables and cover the dish with foil. Bake for 10 minutes then remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes or until the fish is cooked to your liking.
6.) Serve with the vegetables and perhaps even some fresh spinach pasta, brown rice or a salad.
