Wolfgang Puck’s Postrio Cafe Las Vegas Review
Located it the stunning plaza at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Wolfgang Puck’s Postrio Cafe boast Californian style Italian cuisine.
Postrio is located in the indoor patio area of the Venetian hotel which is said to resemble St. Marks square.
One of the first things you will notice about this restaurant are the prices as they seem very fair for a Wolfgang Puck restaurant located in such a fancy hotel.
The menu offers modern or Californian style Italian food including cheese plates to share, salads, home made pastas, mesquite grilled steaks and market fish.
Some of the dishes we got to sample included the Kale salad which was dressed with delicious feta cheese and artichoke. The salads were large and definitely big enough to share or to have as a full meal.
For the main meal we got to sample the Halibut which was served with a carrot ginger puree and mini pickled mushrooms.
The halibut was moist, tender and well seasoned but what really made this dish stand out was the carrot and ginger puree which was smooth and velvety. The little sour mushrooms also helped to lift the dish and provided a contrast to the earthy puree.
Another fish dish on the menu that we sampled included the trout which was served on a bed of lentils. The lentils were cooked to perfection and flavored with bacon. The trout was dressed with cauliflower and micro greens which helped make the fish taste lighter.
For dessert the stand out were the chocolate beignets which were filled with a gooey chocolate center and served with a raspberry sauce.
While they were extremely rich, the small portions made them the perfect way to end the meal.
The service at the restaurant was satisfactory but nothing special and the food was definitely fresh and tasty.
If you are a fan of Wolfgang Puck or are looking for lighter Italian style cuisine than Postrio is definitely one restaurant that you don’t want to miss.
